SAN RAMON, Calif., and DALLAS — Straw Hat Pizza has selected DiamondTouch as an approved POS system for all members of its 50-unit cooperative.
According to a news release, Straw Hat regional director Allen Strege said the DiamondTouch system has been installed in five of the last six store openings. "When our staff saw DiamondTouch in action at one of the stores, we knew that we had to forge a relationship with them."
DiamondTouch chief executive Tom Bronson added, "We've worked with many (Straw Hat) members for years, and we're very excited to have the official nod from their co-op leadership."
The Straw Hat cooperative is solely directed by its membership and has been called "the un-franchise, franchise." It provides the benefits of a franchise system, but allows individual operators to enjoy greater control and minimized corporate overhead (about one-third of the average franchise fee).
