COVINA, Calif. — Shakey's Pizza announced the rollout of a new concept that will effect a name change for the historic chain: Shakey's Pizza & Grill.
 
According to a news release, Shakey's Pizza & Grill, like its predecessor, will remain family focused, serve the chain's original thin-crust pizza, crispy fried chicken and MoJo Potatoes, but add to the menu micro-brewed beers, gourmet pizzas, fresh-tossed salads and grilled Angus beef burgers.
 
The new Pizza & Grill boasts a contemporary adult atmosphere and kids' entertainment zone.
 
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first Pizza & Grill is scheduled for Sept. 7.
