JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —The Loop Pizza Grill, a 28-unit fast-casual pizza and burger restaurant chain, said it will launch a Mediterranean Pizza limited-time offer beginning Aug. 28.
According to a news release, the Mediterranean is a thin-crust pie topped with a blend of cheeses such as feta, as well as Roma tomatoes, Calamata olives, artichokes and garnished with fresh basil.
Loop co-founder and chief executive Mike Schneider said the pie is designed to satisfy guests' craving for ethnic foods, which now account for nearly 12 percent of all retail food sales in the United States.
"The Loop's Greek salad is one of the most popular items on our menu," said Schneider. "We decided to take the core ingredients of that salad and place them on top of a pizza to create a dish that not only pops with flavor but looks appetizing as well."
The Mediterranean Pizza runs to Oct. 9 and will be available in three sizes: individual, medium and large, with prices equivalent to The Loop's other specialty pizzas.
