NEVADA, Iowa — Burke Corp., a manufacturer of fully cooked meat toppings and fillings, has promoted David J. Weber, its vice president of operations, to executive vice president, and elected him as a corporate officer.

According to a news release, with this additional role, Weber will serve on Burke's board of directors and take on broader responsibilities while continuing his oversight of operations.

"Dave's outstanding leadership skills during times of planning, development and system changes and his overall management have been instrumental in Burke's continued success and growth," said Burke president Bill Burke, Jr.

Weber's leadership led to the completion of a recent major plant expansion project. He also led the plant to increase operational efficiency and further advanced food safety programs.

"It's an honor to be promoted to executive management and elected a corporate officer at Burke Corporation — an industry leader dedicated to safety and continuous improvement," said Weber.

Weber joined Burke in 1994 as director of operations. Prior to that, he worked for Jerome Foods' The Turkey Store, Brakebush Brothers and Johnsonville Sausage.
