Editor's note: This is the third story in an eight-part series about the upcoming NRA Show.
At this year's National Restaurant Association's Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show, operators will be able to explore new trends and view the latest in foodservice technology. The 2006 show will be held May 20-23, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
NRA officials said the annual attracts about 2,000 exhibitors and nearly 73,000 attendees from all 50 states and 100-plus countries. One of the show's largest attractions is the Kitchen Innovations pavilion, where 10 NRA Kitchen Innovations Awards recipients are on display.
"Last year, more than 4,000 show attendees visited our industry-first Kitchen Innovations pavilion. By taking part in hands-on demonstrations provided by the Kitchen Innovations Award recipients, attendees were able to discover the world's most innovative foodservice equipment. We expect even more to do so this year," said association president and chief executive officer Steven C. Anderson.

"These companies, selected by an independent panel of experts, will take potential buyers through interactive demonstrations in the exclusive KI Pavilion in the South Hall throughout the Show," said Mary Pat Heftman, the NRA's senior vice president of convention. "From refrigeration units, to ovens, to sanitation equipment, to packaging equipment, our KI Award recipients offer a wide range of products for any restaurant-and-foodservice operation.
"They all provide solutions to boosting efficiency, quality and service, for example by increasing the speed and consistency of cooking so consumers get the highest quality meals in a minimum amount of time."
