LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ultimately, it's all about the pizza — and PizzaMarketplace.com will offer attendees of the North America Pizza and Ice Cream Show in Columbus, Ohio, in February a unique opportunity to talk pizza face-to-face with Senior Editor Steve Coomes.
Monday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. in the PizzaMarketplace.com booth (No. 368), Coomes will play host to "Extra Toppings," a live Q&A-format news show dedicated to frank discussion of the pizza industry.
Coomes, a long-time pizza industry watcher, will answer questions from booth visitors, and the event will be recorded for eventual release in Podcast format. Coomes hopes NAPICS attendees come armed with plenty of questions.
"Most of our readers don't get the opportunity to respond directly to the articles I write," Coomes said. "This will be a fun opportunity for me to talk one-on-one about news and trends with operators and suppliers in the pizza industry."
"Extra Toppings" is a free event PizzaMarketplace.com readers will not want to miss. Booth visitors can also register to win an iPod Shuffle — two will be given away during NAPICS.
Following an 11-year career in the restaurant industry, Coomes, a University of Louisville graduate, turned to foodservice journalism in 1991. He has received numerous awards for writing and photography, worked as a newspaper food columnist and editor, and was editor-in-chief at Pizza Today magazine. He was the founding editor of PizzaMarketplace.com in 2001.
