LYNDEN, Wash. — POS software developer SpeedLine, has released version 5.1 of its core software.
According to a news release, updates to the software include the ability to process gift card and a completely redesigned SpeedLine Inventory feature.
"Many of our customers are interested in increasing revenues through gift card sales," said SpeedLine president John de Wolde. "SpeedLine and Givex now make it easy for them to do this."
Several years ago, SpeedLine developed one of the first pizza-specific inventory control applications. SpeedLine 5.1 includes a totally revamped SpeedLine Inventory with step-by-step wizards and new tools to make it more effective and easier to use.
New inventory features include purchase orders, multiple costing methods and a powerful new Sales Mix model that dramatically reduces testing time.
"Inventory software has to be easy to set up and maintain," said Terry Haan, SpeedLine vice-president of development. "Inventory and food costs have a major impact on profits, and restaurant owners need reliable, user-friendly systems to help them track and control costs."
SpeedLine will offer a sneak preview of the new features at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in March.
