Business India: Cashing in on a growing craze for pizzas among middle class Indians, Dominos Pizza is looking to expand its operations further through franchise operations.
"Having created a demand by our successful marketing blitz of assured delivery in 30 minutes and 'Hungry Kya' catch line, we are keen to cash on it and looking at the franchise route selectively," said Rakshit Hargave, marketing director of Dominos Pizza India Ltd. "We are targeting opening the first of the franchise stores by March 2005 and are in talks with some of the interested parties in the fray. Our expansion plans will include opening more corporate stores and franchise outlets."
Dominos currently has 92 wholly owned corporate stores with three more expected to be opened by month end.
The company claims to have around 65 percent of the pizza delivery market and 45 percent of the overall $68 million branded pizza market in the country.
