LYNDEN, Wash.—Pizza point-of-sale provider SpeedLine announced the release of SpeedLine 5.0, an upgrade to enhance POS security, reliability and performance.
According to a news release, core security changes include a Windows lockout feature that allows staff to run only authorized programs, and enhanced fingerprint matching that improves the performance of security sensors. The new software's expanded ticket activity reporting helps operators detect potential fraud activity such as discounts applied after a ticket is tendered.
SpeedLine 5.0 includes file encryption and compression for fast and secure data transfer between stores and corporate head offices.
It also provides Windows XP support, new tax options that meet the unique requirements of every state, and a new pop-up panel to simplify order taking for pizzerias with very large menus.
"Security is a serious concern for every business owner," SpeedLine vice president of development Terry Haan said in the release. "The innovative technology advancements in SpeedLine 5.0 enhance system access to safeguard data and prevent abuse."
