LOUISVILLE, Ky.—CiCi's Pizza, a 450-unit all-you-can-eat pizza buffet concept based in Coppell, Texas, wants to open 10 stores in and around Louisville, Ky., over the next four to five years.
According to Business First, the first location is planned for New Albany, Ind., directly across the Ohio River from Louisville. The new units will be operated by Louisville Restaurant Management LLC, owned by Jay Ellis and Steve Westberg. The report did not state when the unit will open.
At 4,800 square feet, the New Albany location will be double the size of a typical CiCi's location. It also will include a small game room, which is uncommon in the chain.
According to the report, Westberg was affiliated with CiCi's Pizza for a number of years as a partner in a franchisee group in Houston. He left that group two years ago, intending to resume working with the chain.
CiCi's buffet costs $3.99 and includes 12 types of pizza, salad, two types of pasta and sauces, and three desserts.
