CONCORD, Ontario—PixelPoint Technologies, a leading developer of restaurant POS software, announced the successful integration of the Mercury Payment Systems' MercuryPay platform with PixelPoint's CreditCheck Credit Management software.
According to a news release, the technology enables two- to three-second payment processing time for customers using PixelPoint POS software.
"With restaurants using the Internet more and more for everyday use, it makes sense to leverage that same Internet connection for credit card processing," said Lino D'Angicco, co-founder and CEO of PixelPoint. "This integration work is a natural evolution of our product line geared towards restaurateurs using the Internet for business-related functions, such as our Web-to-Go On Line Ordering software."
Mercury Payment Systems' unique IP processing solution uses a client-server payment processing application that moves transaction information from the client to the server in encrypted TCP/IP packets. On the client side is an activeX component integrated into the point-of-sale program. One interface will provide Internet payment processing as well as traditional dial-up services.
