AUCKLAND, N.Z.—Restaurant Brands, operator of Pizza Hut in New Zealand and Australia, reported that comparable-store sales at its New Zealand Pizza Hut units rose 3.9 percent for its third quarter, ended Dec. 1.
According to a news release, total sales for the quarter there increased by 6.7 percent to NZ $18.4 million (U.S. $11.9 million). Total year-to-date sales were NZ $63.3 million (U.S. $40.9 million) up 8.4 percent over last year. Year-to-date same-store sales were up 6.5 percent.
Restaurant Brands' Australian Pizza Hut businesses in Victoria, according to the company, "continued to improve steadily" with total sales of NZ $6.4 million (U.S. $4.1 million) for the quarter, up 6.8 percent on a same-store basis. Year-to-date sales of NZ $22.1 million (U.S. $14.3 million) were up 9.9 percent over last year on a same-store basis.
Restaurant Brands opened three new Pizza Hut outlets in Victoria during the quarter, raising the unit count to 51.
