HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- Chicago Pizza & Brewery Inc. (Nasdaq: CHGO) reported that comparable-store sales at its BJ's Restaurants rose 3.4 percent during its third quarter, ended Sept. 28. Sales rose 3.2 percent during the same period a year ago.

According to a news release, the comp-sales rise was helped by a menu price increase of approximately 1.5 percent taken during May 2003.

Third quarter revenues were up 40 percent to $26.7 million, versus $19 million in the comparable period last year.

Chicago Pizza & Brewery operates 32 casual dining restaurants, some of which incorporate brewpubs.
