DENVER -- Pizza PALS of Denver, a CiCi's Pizza franchisee group, has announced the appointment of Mike Speck as its chief people officer.
According to a release, Pizza PALS recently opened the first of 100 planned CiCi's buffet restaurants throughout Colorado and Utah.
Pizza PALS executive officers include Allan Huston, former president and CEO of Pizza Hut, Pat Williamson, former Pizza Hut COO and Larry Zwain, former president and CEO of Boston Market. (See "Former Pizza Hut execs to franchise CiCi's in Colorado.")
Speck most recently was vice president of human resource with Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. Prior to that he served in senior HR and operations positions in corporate and franchise companies of Boston Market, Einstein Bros Bagels and Applebee's.
"(Mike) is personally involved in combining operations needs with people needs, and understands that what gets measured gets people's attention," Zwain said in the release.
CiCi's Pizza is based in Coppell, Texas, and has 420 restaurants operating in 20 states. Sales for 2002 were $335 million.
