VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Papa Murphy's International, the nation's largest take-and-bake pizza franchise company, has named Mark Laramie its new president.
According to a release, Laramie has served as Papa Murphy's executive vice president of operations for the past eight months.
A foodservice industry veteran, Laramie is the former vice president of franchising for Detroit-based Little Caesars, where he oversaw all operations, development and support departments throughout the 1980s.
In 1998, he was made CEO of Denver-based Quizno's Corporation, a quick-serve sub sandwich chain.
Papa Murphy's chief executive officer and principal Terry Collins said Laramie's demonstration of leadership and expertise in the pizza business led him to promote Laramie to president.
"In his new role, Mark will lead all efforts to continue to aggressively position Papa Murphy's as a world class retail food operation," Collins said in the release.
Papa Murphy's has 722 stores in 23 states, and plans to open 88 locations this year. Many of those sites are expected to be located east of the Mississippi River, where take-and-bake pizza is largely an unknown.
In 2001, the company posted $380 million in revenue.
