• Ohio Pizza Huts give 11,000 free pizzas to safety belt effort

MANSFIELD -- On Aug. 25 the Bucyrus district of the Ohio Highway Patrol honored the staffs of several area Pizza Huts for their role in helping promote safety belts use in cars.

According to the News Journal, Staff Lt. Ken Garloch praised Sharron Cole, director of marketing and recruitment for Pizza Hut franchise group Northern Ohio Pizza Company Inc. for NOPC's donation of 11,167 coupons -- for free Personal Pan Pizzas -- given to students who signed Safety Belt Promises.

To promote seat belt use, Ohio troopers made three surprise visits to high school parking lots, where they handed out coupons to seat belt wearers, and spoke at schools about seat belt safety (see related story Ohio officers reward seatbelt users with Pizza Hut coupons).
