HAMBURG, Germany -- A Hamburg restaurant is taking the gold standard of pizza to a new level.

According to Ananova, the Petit Delice restaurant in Hamburg, Germany, charges $31 for a small slice of a pizza it tops with 22-karat gold. Chef Ernst-Wilhelm Klevinghaus said his pizza also is topped with crème fraìche and paté and is "pizza fit for a king."

"Some people are worried that the gold will make you ill," said Klevinghaus. "But it is perfectly harmless and doesn't taste of anything."
