ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Domino's Pizza announced the completion of an initial rollout of its new Domino's Pulse POS system in 600 corporate stores and 100 franchise stores.
According to a release, the system is a customized version of Breakaway International, Inc.'s VISION platform. Arlington, Texas-based Breakaway is a POS vendor to the restaurant and hospitality industries.
"Domino's Pulse is a great tool that begins with enhancing the ... way customer service representatives (CSRs) interact with our customers," said Tim Monteith, Domino's chief information officer. "Until now, our point-of-sale systems have not given our CSRs the tools they need to succeed ... ."
According to the release, stores using the Pulse system have enjoyed improved customer service, reduced mistakes and shorter training times.
Mike Davis, Breakaway's program manager for the Domino's account, called the project the culmination of months of hard work by the two companies.
"Domino's stores and customers are now starting to reap the benefits," Davis said. "We look forward to rolling out the Domino's Pulse product to additional franchise and international stores early this year."
In October 2000, Domino's awarded Breakaway a worldwide contract to provide its VISION solution to all its locations in 65 countries. The rollout of the Pulse system began in the summer of 2001.
