BRADLEY, Ill. -- Fifty-store Monical's Pizza has named Coralville, Iowa-based Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, Inc. its Vendor of the Year for 2002.
Hawkeye is a privately owned broadline distributor of products to foodservice operations across 10 Midwest states.
According to a news release, Monical's selection was based on several criteria, including consistency and quality of products, responsible pricing, and on-time delivery of products at the proper temperature.
In servicing 21 of Monical's central Illinois restaurants, Hawkeye accomplished an order fill rate of 99 percent and on-time delivery record of 99.5 percent.
Monical's president Harry Bond lauded Hawkeye sales representative Larry Fields for setting a standard of service that helped the distributor earn this year's award.
"Hawkeye's people, like Larry Fields, are what really set them apart," Bond said in the release. "Larry does whatever it takes to make sure our teams have what they need, when they need it ... and the entire Hawkeye team ... backs him up."
