AKRON, Ohio -- Two teens appeared in juvenile court on Oct. 15 after their arrest in connection with the robbery of two pizza delivery drivers two nights earlier.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Terry Smith, 35, a Pizza Hut assistant manager and driver, said he was approached by three young males around 9 p.m. while delivering an order. Smith was punched during the encounter, but he knocked down one assailant and chased the other two away. No food or cash was taken in the incident.
About an hour later, the two teens who fled from Smith allegedly robbed Domino's Pizza driver Anthony Starks, 19. In the incident, the robbers took Starks' money, pizza and his 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix.
An hour later, two suspects were arrested by police, and Starks' car was recovered at the scene.
Later at the jail, Smith identified the pair as two of the three who accosted him earlier in the evening.
The unidentified teens, ages 15 and 16, were charged with robbery and grand theft auto in connection with the second incident.
