East of Chicago, which has 146 locations in five states, chose GFS for its automated distribution system, according to the pizza company's news release. GFS is the United State's largest privately held food service distributor.
"Because we as a company have embraced technology, we wanted to align ourselves with a distributor that has done likewise," said Cory Washburn, East of Chicago CEO.
East of Chicago was ranked 217th in Entrepreneur Magazine's 20th annual Franchise 500 list, according to the release. The Willard, Ohio-based chain also has restaurants in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida.
