ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Domino's Pizza Distribution named sauce maker Paradise Tomato Kitchens and cheese maker Leprino Foods the company's Pizza Suppliers of the Year at its annual Suppliers Working Actively Together (SWAT) Awards Dinner.
In a release, Mike Soignet, Domino's executive vice president maintain high standards, said the company typically names just one supplier of the year, but that this year it had to make an exception.
Louisville, Ky.-based Paradise Tomato Kitchens was chosen for its initiation of an online order management tool for Domino's buyers, as well as its development of an easy-open pizza sauce pouch. This is the second year in a row Paradise has received Domino's supplier of the year honor.
Leprino Foods, headquartered in Denver, was selected for providing key technical assistance that resulted in improved handling procedures at the store level. The company has supplied Domino's mozzarella since 1995.
"We see the award ceremony as an opportunity to build good relationships with our suppliers," said Soignet, " Domino's ... would like to congratulate the winners on their success."
Domino's operates 7,076 corporate and franchised stores in the United States and more than 60 international markets.
