• Four arrested after staged hold-up at pizza store

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Police are calling a May 26 robbery at a Papa John's pizza store an inside job that netted $6,000.

According to The Morning Call, four friends planned and staged the hold-up.

Larry Anthony Schew, 18, and Benjamin Gaumer, 19, have been arrested and charged with the crime. Their bail was set at $100,000 each.

Charges against two others, identified only as 17 year-olds, will be referred to juvenile probation officers in Lehigh County Court.

Gaumer was working at Papa John's when his friends helped stage the holdup. The faked robbery was reported about 10:30 p.m.

According to police, more than $4,000 of the loot has been recovered.

According to Lt. David M. Howells Jr., a spokesman for the city police, an investigation determined "they set up a fake robbery."

The break in the case came when Schew implicated Gaumer.

Gaumer is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy, false reports to law enforcement officials and corruption of minors.

The two juveniles face charges of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.
