LODI, Calif. -- Domino's Pizza and Internet kiosk provider PayStar Corp., have contracted with Vancouver-based eXcape Business Transactions Inc. to create handheld wireless payment terminals.
Under the program, which will be beta-tested by Domino's at selected locations, the company's delivery drivers will make the terminals available at the point of purchase, allowing customers to pay for their pizzas at their homes using credit and debit cards.
Under the terms of the deal, PayStar and Domino's will share revenue based on the number of transactions. No further details of the agreement were announced.
"PayStar's system will increase driver safety by reducing cash on hand," William D. Yotty, PayStar chairman and chief executive officer, said in a news release.
PayStar expects to deploy several thousand wireless units during 2002, though company officials would not say how many will be allocated for the Domino's test program.
