• Safety concerns curb pizza deliveries to Israeli soldiers

JERUSALEM -- The Associated Press has reported that Israel's top army brass has ordered its soldiers not to accept deliveries of pizzas they didn't order themselves because they fear the packages could be booby-trapped.

In April, Israeli soldiers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip began ordering pizzas via a Web site which civilians also could use to send pizza as gifts to the soldiers.

To date, 4,000 pies have been sent, 90 percent of which were sent to the troops by Americans.

Several restaurants in Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza deliver the pizzas to army bases.
