LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Two Lawrence men are behind bars after being charged with the May 4 beating and robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

According to the Lawrence Journal-World, two suspects, Roger Davis, 30, and Timothy Cable, 31, allegedly ordered pizzas from Pizza Shuttle and had them delivered to Davis's home.

Police reports said that when the 21-year-old driver arrived about 9:45 p.m., he was struck in the face with a rock, the assailants took the pizzas -- worth $17.75 -- a $100 cell phone, but not the driver's cash.

Sgt. Mike Pattrick said the driver's nose and cheek bones were broken and will require plastic surgery. The driver was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Pattrick said witnesses' descriptions of the suspects led police to Davis and Cable, both of whom are in the Douglas County Jail.
