VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Mike Cordoba, president and COO of Boston Pizza International Inc., has been selected one of Canada's Top 40 executives Under 40 for 2002. The contest, founded and managed by The Caldwell Partners, drew more than 1,200 entries this year.
Cordoba joined Richmond, B.C.-based Boston Pizza in 1993 as controller and became its CFO in 1994. In 1997 he was promoted to executive director, and then to president and COO in 2000.
Canada's Top 40 Under 40 program honors the country's leaders who've reached a significant level of success before turning 40. The program promotes mentorship and professional development by promoting leaders as role models for young Canadians. Winners are selected based on their achievements and demonstration of leadership, innovation, achievement and community involvement.
Boston Pizza operates more than 160 restaurants, mostly in Canada. Its sales in 2001 were in excess of CAN $300 million. The Financial Post and Arthur Andersen LLP and CIBC named Boston Pizza one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for three consecutive terms.
