• Pizza store franchisee fined after employee is murdered

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. -- A pizzeria franchisee was fined after a 16-year-old employee was killed while working late at night with no adult supervision.

Kenneth Cook, the owner of Mancino's Pizza and Grinders in New Baltimore, pled no contest to misdemeanor charges after an employee was killed during a robbery.

Justin Mello was shot to death last October. Two men have confessed to killing Mello.

Cook must pay a $500 fine, and was given one year of probation.

The company also must pay a $1,000 fine.
