CPK hopes new markets will warm to its frozen pizzas

LOS ANGELES -- California Pizza Kitchen has expanded sales of its frozen gourmet pizzas to supermarkets in Florida, New York and Texas.

CPK rolled out its line of frozen grocery-store pies in 1998. Currently they're sold in 17 major metro markets scattered nationwide.

According to a CPK release, supermarket frozen pizza sales totaled $2.6 billion last year, growing nearly 6 percent. To date, the company has not revealed sales totals of its own line.

CPK frozen pizzas come in seven varieties: BBQ Chicken, Thai Chicken, Sausage Pepperoni & Mushroom, Rosemary Potato Chicken, Five Cheese and Tomato, Portobello Mixed Mushroom and Roasted Garlic Chicken.

Suggested retail price is $5.19.
