ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Now that more than 300 million Europeans have a common currency in the euro, what they like on their pizzas is as diverse as the continent itself.

In the Netherlands, shwarma, which is grilled lamb, is popular.
A Grecian favorite is the Hellenic pizza, which uses pepperoni, onion, green pepper, fresh tomato, Greek olive, feta cheese and oregano.
Instead of tomato sauce, the French commonly choose crème fraîche, which is unpasteurized cream that is thickened by naturally occurring bacteria, and has a slightly tangy flavor.
In both Belgium and France, a popular Four-Cheese pizza consists of goat, blue, Reblochon and Emmentaler cheeses, while Spanish stores offer a Five-Cheese selection containing blue, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar and Parmesan.
The most popular toppings in Portugal are a garlicky Portuguese sausage called linguiça, and a spicy Spanish sausage chorizo.
