A manufacturer of dormitory-size refrigerators is thinking outside the box by keeping the pizza box in mind.
According to The Washington Post, GE Appliances is selling a compact refrigerator wide enough to accommodate a pizza box and two six-packs of canned beverages. The refrigerator was unveiled during the January International Housewares Show in Chicago.
GE's global marketing team used boxes from Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza and Little Caesars to come up with the fridge's dimensions. To allow the box to fit, engineers removed freezer compartment and reconfigured the door.
The refrigerator sports 1.8-cubic-feet of space, and sells for $99.
