An 18-year-old man from Round Lake Beach, just outside of Chicago, pleaded guilty to the felony robbery of a pizza delivery driver, and was sentenced to 5 years in prison on Jan. 27.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Jeremy O'Neal, was originally charged with armed robbery, but an accomplice actually used the weapon, said Assistant State's Atty. Torrie Newsome. The charges stemmed from the Oct. 12 robbery in Round Lake Beach.
Jamal Parks, 17, of the 200 block of West Forest Avenue in Round Lake, pleaded guilty Thursday to felony armed robbery in the case and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
During the robbery, O'Neal and an unnamed juvenile accomplice, approached the driver's car as if to retrieve and pay for the pizza. Parks then rushed from behind some bushes and pointed a gun at the driver and demanded his money.
