An aggressive but desperate sales-building effort by the owner of a Montreal pizzeria has landed him and a delivery man in jail.
An anonymous tip led investigators to order a pie -- plus a sizeable side of heroin -- from Atwater Pizza, in downtown Montreal, and have it delivered to a nearby hotel room.
The price for the pizza was $20,000.
When investigators opened the just-delivered box, 100 grams of pure heroin were inside.
"I couldn't tell you if there was actually pizza inside the box," Constable Yannick Ouimet, a spokesman for the Montreal police, told the National Post.
Atwater owner, Hamid Reza Mir Saed Ghazi, 39, and delivery man, Fereidoun Farziani, 36, were arrested Jan. 18, and arraigned on six counts each, including heroin trafficking and possession of heroin. Both are being held in custody.
