HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- Chicago Pizza & Brewery Inc. reported strong revenues for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec. 31, 2001.
Total fourth quarter revenues were $16,722,000, an increase of 11.3 percent over 2000, while total revenues for the year were $64,683,000, a jump of 23.6 percent.
According to the company, same-store sales growth of 4 percent at its BJ's restaurants and Pietro's pizzerias contributed favorably to the revenue gains.
Net income for the year was $3.2 million, compared with net income of $1.9 million in 2000. Those results include pre-tax income of $799,000 from the adjustment for store closures recorded in 2000.
Company CEO, Paul Monteko, said the company will accelerate its opening schedule during the second half of 2002.
Chicago Pizza & Brewery operates 26 casual dining restaurants throughout the U.S.
