Starting today, the team from Nick-N-Willy's Pizza will be dishing out details through their social media platforms about their adventure as an official provider of pizza to the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City. Richard Weil, Nick-N-Willy's president, said the idea to approach festival leaders came from his own corporate team.
"We're going to be doing some fun things with it," said Weil of the Sundance coverage. "This is definitely a new component for us, ‘cause we've never done anything of this magnitude. So far we've gotten outstanding comments from consumers. (Companies have) sent pizza (to Sundance) before in the past, but I don't think they've had this level of quality product."
So far, the 40-unit pizza chain has 203 Twitter followers and 873 Facebook fans. But after the next two weeks of the world's watching, company officials expect to drum up more buzz on these networks — especially from potential franchisees.
Weil said coverage would include both attendees' reactions to their brand and interesting events and screenings at the celebration.
"There are two galas as well, and we'll be blogging about who we meet and see, and the films being showcased," Weil said.
The 10-day "Nick-N-Willy's Sundance Film Festival Feast" from Jan. 21 to 31 will be documented with a series of live posts on the Nick-N-Willy's Slice of Life blog, Twitter page (@Nick_N_Willys) and Facebook fan page. Videos will be uploaded to a YouTube account linked to the blog. Links to all sites can be found on the corporate Web site at www.nicknwillys.com.
