Dallas-based Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar has announced the nationwide rollout of a new menu at all 52 U.S. and Mexico locations.

Boston's has expanded the “Healthy Hits” section of its menu, offering many new items for the health-conscious, including Shrimp Diablo Pasta, steak and broccoli, Asian-glazed salmon and Margherita flatbread.

“We know that more and more people are looking for healthier menu offerings in hopes of maintaining a more balanced diet,” said Mike Best, Boston’s chief operating officer. “With our ‘Healthy Hits’ menu, guests can enjoy all the flavor of Boston’s without the guilt they sometimes feel when dining out.

But the makeover isn’t totally health-centric: Like other casual pizzerias that have recently undergone menu revamps, Boston’s is staying true to its roots with two new pizza options. The double meat and peppers selection includes sausage and meatballs with fresh roasted red onions and red and green peppers. The Zesty Italiano contains spicy Italian sausage and sliced pepperoni with fresh spinach, roasted garlic, banana peppers and mozzarella cheese. Both pizzas are available with a gluten-free crust.

The revamped menu also features new sandwich items such as chicken, beef and pork sliders, a turkey burger and barbecue pulled pork. A new flatbread category also has been created, which features Boston’s signature pizza dough rolled out flat for a delicious and crispy twist. These were widely popular during a limited time offer, and are expected to become a guest favorite. Flatbreads are available in Spicy Chicken Pesto, Extreme Mushroom, Four Cheese and Margherita.

Many of Boston’s innovations have matched trends the NRA flagged as "What's Hot in 2010," including mini desserts and the prevelance of gluten-free offerings. The new dessert menu includes two new Petite Treats, Smashed Boston’s Cream Pie and Strawberry Shortcake in a Cup.

Boston’s will continue to carry gluten-free pizza on the new menu: In 2009, Boston’s was one of the first casual dining concepts to nationally implement gluten-free crust. Boston’s has received an outpouring of positive feedback from guests who suffer with Celiac Disease or are gluten intolerant.
