Take 'n' bake pizza chain Papa Murphy's has debuted a new double-stuffed pepperoni pizza for football season with the tag, "Big games demand a really big pizza."
The pie is stuffed with sliced and diced pepperoni and made with real mozzarella. Coupons for a $7.99 large double-stuffed pizza are circulating, but the introductory price is $8.99.
"It was tested in many markets prior to launch and did very well," said Papa Murphy's spokesperson Lindsi Miller. "Best of all, it was developed by one of our franchise owners, Steve Frazier, out of the Fresno market."
Frazier, a five-store Papa Murphy’s franchise owner based in Madera, California, created the pizza to be a family favorite under $10.
“I wanted to make sure it would be something even kids would eat – and I know they like pepperoni,” said Frazier. “There’s pepperoni in every bite!”
The limited-time-only pizza is available in select stores nationwide, with prices starting at $8.99. Like Papa Murphy’s other stuffed pizzas, the Double Stuffed Pizza takes 25 to 30 minutes to bake in customers’ home ovens.
