Naked Pizza has awarded multi-unit franchising rights to the New York City and Phoenix, Ariz., markets.
The New York City group is headed by Mitchell Krupp and Richard Jacobson and includes several notable professional athletes and New York figures, according to company statements.
In Phoenix, territories have been awarded to several developers with the first few leases expected to be signed this week.
In its quest to open 350 locations, Naked Pizza launched its franchise company one year ago with backing from influential investors. The company also has received international attention for its success with social media. The company recently opened its first franchise locations in Miami and Louisville, Ky. More locations are planned for Orlando, Fla., San Diego, Boston, Rochester, N.Y., New Orleans, Denver, and Dubai, which are all scheduled to open by the end of the year.
