The new SpeedLine 6.2 release from leading pizza and delivery point of sale vendor SpeedLine Solutions Inc. delivers new capabilities specifically requested by more than 70 individual restaurant chains and operators, including an automatic backup feature.
“We developed the new SpeedLine HotBackup—one of hundreds of enhancements in this release—in response to customer feedback about the critical importance of data security in the restaurant,” said SpeedLine president John de Wolde.
“The restaurant operators who use our products every day are key advisors in our ongoing development strategy,” de Wolde said. “Our success depends on our ability to deliver real business solutions to their growing operational needs.”
The new HotBackup is insurance against unexpected hardware failures, backing up customer and transaction data every minute of every day. Custom options allow restaurant operators to set up automatic backups for payroll and accounting files as well.
Based on requests from SpeedLine users for greater choice, flexibility and scalability, the company also continues to expand the SpeedLine Technology Network. The SpeedLine 6.2 release adds new partnerships with Monetra Payment Services and Paytronix Loyalty Systems, giving users more choice and capabilities.
A new electronic receiving interface also makes it easier for restaurant suppliers to connect with SpeedLine Inventory. More than 700 restaurant locations already use electronic receiving into SpeedLine from McLane Foodservice and US Foodservice. The new release also transmits detailed purchase order information to a chain’s head office for enterprise analysis of stock levels, costs and purchasing trends.
“Our users demand that we pay attention to new technology as well as new industry standards,” de Wolde said.
SpeedLine 6.2 includes full support for Windows 7, leveraging the latest security capabilities of the operating system. In addition, new support for the Micosoft OPOS standard gives SpeedLine users a choice of a much broader selection of brands and models, allowing them to source equipment at the most competitive prices.
