Talk about speedy delivery: Brian Edler, a Domino’s Pizza franchisee in Findlay, Ohio, can officially create a pizza faster than anyone else in the world.
In celebration of Domino’s 50th anniversary celebration, Edler set out to break the Guinness World Record for making, baking and boxing pizzas by a single man in one hour.
Prior to this morning, the record was 168 12-inch pizzas. Edler’s goal was to make 200 pizzas. He whipped up 206.
A crew of local celebrities videotaped the effort and measured each pizza to send to Guinness for verification.
Domino’s hoped to raise more than $50,000 with an auction that was held simultaneously to the record-breaking effort, matching pledges and sales throughout the day.
According to the Findlay Courier, one of Edler’s pizzas – number 206 – was sold for $5,000 during the auction.
Edler is no stranger to pizza accomplishments. A former member of the U.S. Pizza Team, he has been a multiple Domino’s World Pizza Champion, has been crowned “world’s fastest pizza maker” and has also placed in the top three in the world in the largest dough stretch category.
In addition to his Findlay location, Edler owns Domino’s stores in other cities throughout Northwest Ohio.
