The National Restaurant Association has announced a new partnership with CMSText to bring text message marketing solutions to its 380,000+ member restaurant locations to help them boost profitability and build guest loyalty.

"Technology plays a major role in the restaurant business today, and we are committed to bringing new profit-building tools and solutions to our members," said David Gilbert, chief operating officer, National Restaurant Association. "Many restaurants are evolving their marketing strategies to fit consumer lifestyles and text messaging has proven an effective tool. Through our partnership with CMSText, we are able to offer first-rate mobile marketing services that can boost guest traffic and loyalty."

According to National Restaurant Association research, roughly one out of four fullservice and more than half of quick-service operators said they are likely to incorporate text messaging into their restaurant business in the next year or two. Additionally, roughly one in five consumers said they would likely utilize the option of receiving cell phone text message notifications of daily specials at restaurants.

National Restaurant Association members will receive exclusive rates on CMSText cell phone text message marketing services, which include customizable plans and 24-hour support. Restaurant guests opt-in to receive messages with information, specials and events from the restaurant via SMS text message. Restaurants are able to offer coupons and other loyalty incentives through the service, and manage contact lists to target messages to specific guests at specific times.
