Domino's has spent the better part of the past decade spreading throughout India, hitting 100 units in the early part of 2005.
Now, with more than 300 units and its foot firmly planted in the country, Domino's is starting to grow into Tier II & III cities, including Calicut, Madurai, Gangtok, Raipur, Jabalpur and Patna.
According to India Info Line, the company opened its first store this week in Bhubaneswar, its first in the state of Orissa. The unit has experienced "astounding" sales thus far.
Domino's Bhubaneswar features a wide range of pizzas, pastas, wraps, garlic breadsticks, chicken wings, choco lava cakes and double burst pizzas. Dine-in and delivery is available.
Earlier this year, Domino's Pizza CEO Patrick Doyle announced that India would rank among the company's top five markets in the next three years. Currently, the second most populous country in the world accounts for about 2 percent of the company's annual sales, but Doyle expects that number to rise exponentially soon.
