As major chains continue to battle it out in the unending $10 pizza wars, some smaller systems are quietly flexing their own competitive price advantages.
One such company, The Loop Pizza Grill, is testing a deal that entails four 8-inch pizzas for the price of three. The limited-time promotion is taking place at five company-operated locations in Jacksonville, Fla., and, if successful, will be rolled out system-wide in January.
That measure of success, according to Cathy Manzon, director of marketing for The Loop Pizza Grill, is five to 10 sales of the promotion per day. If it hits that mark, the four-for-three deal will be offered as an LTO initially.
"(Then) popularity will determine if it becomes a permanent menu item or not," Manzon said.
The Loop is hoping the variety factor garners such popularity.
"This is a perfect solution for family dinner night or even an office lunch; just pick out four favorite pizzas, take them home in one box and enjoy," said Manzon. "It's a great value that is sure to please everyone."
The Loop launched this deal specifically because a big part of its demographic includes families of four. Also, four 8-inch pizzas fit in with the company's 16-inch, take-home box.
The offer includes The Loop's signature specialties such as the Spicy Chicken Cilantro or Sausage and Goat Cheese, as well as traditional pepperoni or sausage. The average cost of a one-topping 8-inch pizza is $5.99 and a specialty pizza is $7.99.
Founded in 1981, the Loop Pizza Grill also serves burgers, salads, sandwiches and hand-dipped milkshakes. There are 14 locations in three states.
