California Pizza Kitchen Inc. will donate 100 percent of all dine-in sales from both of its Birmingham, Ala.-area locations on May 9 and 10 to the Mid Alabama American Red Cross in support of those affected by the recent tornadoes.
"Being born and raised in Birmingham with strong family ties still there, this cause is very close and dear to my heart," said Esther (Graffeo) Rosenfield, wife of co-founder and co-CEO of California Pizza Kitchen Rick Rosenfield. "In the wake of devastations, we need to come together and be charitable. I am proud that my husband, along with co-founder and co-CEO Larry Flax, have designed this fundraiser in this time of need to help others."
The Mid Alabama American Red Cross has helped thousands of people after the deadly tornadoes destroyed neighborhoods throughout the southern region of the country April 27. The money raised from CPK's fundraising efforts will go to those in need, supplying food, shelter and medical supplies.
