Nick Sarillo, owner/CEO of Nick's Pizza & Pub, will present an educational session on the topic "Wake Up! It's Not the Marketing, It's the Experience" at the 2011 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show at McCormick Place in Chicago.
According to Sarillo, a pizza company can excel so long as managers embrace an inspiring purpose and weave it into everything the company does. To succeed and recognize the returns to the bottom line, those ideals must be implemented in not only the food and service but in all marketing, outreach, and social media initiatives.
"People always ask us how we got more than 4,300 fans on Facebook. At the most simple level, it's because our team applies the company's purpose and values to everything we do, whether we're interacting with a guest in the restaurant or online," said Sarillo, whose forthcoming book (Portfolio, March 2012) will detail his "on purpose" business principles. "Our guests respond to those authentic and genuine communications by becoming regulars and telling their friends."
Sarillo will be joined by his "coach" Rudy Miick, founder/president of restaurant consultant firm Miick & Associates, for the presentation on defining and delivering authentic, on-brand experiences that impact the bottom line. They will explore simple tools and best practices that can be used by any foodservice business intent on building a values-driven, high-performance organization.
The educational session takes place from 12-1:30 p.m. May 23 in Room S403B at McCormick Place.
