Japanese Pizza Huts now offer online ordering, according to executives at Fujitsu, who announced that the company received the project request from Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan Ltd., which owns the pizza chain in Japan. The online ordering system is now operational at all of Pizza Hut's 360 locations across the country.
The platform employs Fujitsu's PRIMERGY x86 servers and Interstage middleware and can accept online orders for future deliveries 24 hours a day. It accepts credit card payment orders and allows Japanese customers to use their Ponta multi-partner loyalty program point cards.
Using a new savings simulation feature launching in August, customers will also be able to determine which meal sets offer the best value or which of their coupons would save the most money.
The online ordering system has also personalized Pizza Hut's marketing capabilities with a feature that distributes coupons tailored to individual needs to each registered customer via e-mail accounts.
