Big Brother may not be monitoring the pizza business in the UK, but Y-cam Solutions is. The provider of remote monitoring products is helping Domino's Pizza protect its 600 company and franchised stores across the UK and Ireland with more than 200 IP cameras.
"Staff work throughout the day and night – unsociable hours," said Naz Ahmed, IT installation manger for Domino's. "This opens up stores to a number of threats, which is heightened due to the opening hours and the areas that some stores are located. They tend to get a bit of trouble, especially with the late night trade, so to ensure the safety of the customers and staff we have cameras installed."
The security system includes indoor and outdoor cameras with night-vision capabilities and motion detection alerts. Managers also have remote access to the cameras through the Internet and mobile devices.
"We wanted to stay ahead of the times and be cutting edge in the market, therefore we decided to go digital," Naz said.
