Pizza Inn Inc. just opened its second location in Abilene, Texas.
Franchise owners Charles Verner, Russ Verner and Gene Gonger, decided to open their second Pizza Inn after the success of their first location in the north part of town.
"We could see that Pizza Inn was a growing chain with a lot of room for expansion," said Russ Verner.
The new buffet restaurant seats 160 people, employs 57 people, and offers delivery service.
Russ Verner and Gonger, who started out as cooks at a Sonic drive-in in high school, now count 14 Sonic restaurants and two Pizza Inn restaurants among their investments. Charles Verner joined the group to partner in the Pizza Inn locations after a career as an electrical engineer.
The restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
