Papa John's is planning to re-enter the Bahamas market and is hosting workshops to find area franchisees.
According to the Tribune, Papa John's exited the market several years ago. The Bahamas boasts a Domino's Pizza franchise and a Marco's Pizza franchise, among other smaller chains, and is highly competitive.
Papa John's currently operates in 40 international markets. Erin Snyder, a panelist at one of the franchise workshops, said the chain is looking to return to the Bahamas as part of its broader objective of becoming the largest pizza company in the world. Papa John's is currently the third largest, with 37,000 global units.

"We had been in the market previously, and our franchises here did lose that focus of bringing the customer back through being something good, something different, something worth talking about. We are looking for a partner now that will bring our product back in and serve that product to the customers," Snyder said.
