CiCi's Pizza has partnered with ONOSYS, a Web-based ordering software company, to grow the chain's carryout business through online ordering. CiCi's will start testing the component in early 2012 in Orlando, Fla., Charlotte, N.C., Denver, Austin, Texas, Richmond, Va., and Las Vegas.
"CiCi's offers carry-out pizzas at an incredible value, and we see to-go business as a real growth opportunity for our current and future franchisees," said Steve Hawter, CiCi's vice president of Franchise Services. "ONOSYS offers a convenient online solution for CiCi's guests to enjoy our wide variety of unique pizzas and custom favorites outside the four walls of the restaurant."
The online ordering system will allow guests to customize their orders in great detail and save their favorite items for repeat ordering. Guests can place orders 24 hours a day and schedule pickup anytime during restaurant hours.
"As a restaurant famous for its custom buffet, CiCi's needed a service that would be as flexible as they are," said Alex Yakubovich, co-founder and partner at ONOSYS. "Our online ordering system is a logical next step in making the CiCi's brand more accessible to on-the-go guests and building carry-out sales."
The tests are part of CiCi's Build the Brand growth strategy, put into place in early 2010 when Michael R. Shumsky was appointed as CEO. The chain is undergoing other initiatives to fit this strategy, including site model upgrades and changes to the leadership team.
ONOSYS develops mobile and online ordering solutions for restaurant chains and services more than 75 brands, including Papa John's International, Panera Bread, Round Table Pizza, Jersey Mike's Subs, Applebee's and Honeybaked Ham.
